Vision Elite is the same cluster of people from Cadets of NYC, LUCAS and so on. Mostly the same staff with some new editions. I wonder if they will keep the same Blue/White/Silver Uniforms too.

This is a great idea! I haven't seen a small corps take on a fundraiser like this before, good for them! I know I'll be buying a few!

The point I was trying to make was over the past 5 years, 2 years had 9 D2 corps, 2 years had 10 D2 corps, and one of those years, I think the international rule was in effect so all 10 of the d2's went to finals and 1 year had 12 corps. http://www.fromthepressbox.com/2000-2005seasons.html It's going to be nice to see more than than the "usual amount". More corps in ALL divisions is a great thing!

The only thing that won't be happening is the same 9 Division 2 corps from last season and previous seasons won't be in finals this year. Change is good........

It's obvious that ANY organization would be lucky to have Jim invovled with thier corps. I think it's great to see him take to task the people involved for the dimise of this corps. The last thing people want is to be held accountable when screw up. Don't let up Jim, find out what is going on, ask where the monies went, where the equipment is, don't let anyone get away with anything!

I was watching some DCI dvd's over the weekend and I have to ask.........What in the world happened to Premier Drums??? At one point, it looked like they were the next big drum company. I've always enjoyed to sound the HTS tenors made, I even bought a pair on ebay last year. Can you honestly say that Dynasty makes a Better drum or a Better Snare than Premier? I see One Division 2 corps using them, and I think 2 Open Class DCI corps, plus a DCA corps and some WGI lines. I may be wrong with the count, but I know it's not what they used to be.

Well, It's been a few days and no response.... Is Hypnotix putting a corps on the field this season or not??? I received an email from someone saying NO, however, I do not know if they are a member of thier BOD or just a member.

Yep, totally aware of that, I have no problem with Doc Fox, just making a general statement about many corps that spend the off season talking about of what mostly turns out to be alot of nothing.

Didn't Spartans Play G Last Year? The didn't have the biggest brass line and they were very successful last season ans seasons past.

Yeah, All I was pointing out was, there were 9 D2 Corps this year so everyone made finals. So this year, you should have 3 additional corps in D2, Arizona, BDB and SCVC, Take away Blue Stars, means 8 corps from last year plus 3 additions equal 11 spots and the D2 final is 9 corps. Now if any corps move up from D3 to D2 that will make more D2's fighting for the same 9 spots. Now getting to the Grand Finals corps. The top 12 highest scores (D2 & D3) advanced to the Grand Finals from the Divisional Finals. The thing I always enjoy every year is seeing some D3 Corps which are sometimes half the size or more smaller than some of the D2 corps, go out on the last day and actually defeat some of the D2's. For example, last year the D3 winner scored higher than two D2 corps and was less than a point away from another D2 corps. You are right, they are all judged on the same sheet and that is the way is should be. All I am saying is, I like the D2's and D3's. The passion from these kids and thier corps is like nothing else.

I'll agree with all the bias predictions, A lot of people had the Surf (me included) or Spartans winning last year but when Finals came around Suf was not even close and Spartans won the Division but not the Grand. Chearing for you corps on the boards is great, but over predicting is nonsense sometimes. D2 should be a real event this year. With the amount of D2 corps coming to Madison, some long time corps that always make it because there was not enough corps to be elimated from finals, will be knocked out this year.

WOW....why even post something like that if you can't confirm it. Are you a member of that corps?

My 2 cents........... Last Season, I saw the Raiders about 6 times, by the 2nd time I saw them I felt they had what was needed to win D3. Very few people gave them a chance. If they stay in D3, then they have to be the hands on favorite to win again until someone beats them. D3 and D2 are more fun to predict and watch than the open corps. D3 should be fun this season, with some corps coming back, some new corps popping up, some corps getting bigger and stronger and some corps going going in a different direction.

While it's not the entire reason why Bill Cook Pulled Star out of DCI many years ago, it was said that Bill Cook had an idea about selling drum corps a little easier to people by bringing it indoors and having an arena type circuit. Back in the 70's on the east coast the old MMA circuit had a winter indoor circuit for corps that would be considered the 2/3's of today. DCA actually had a few shows at Madison Square Garden on a smaller turf field.

I think over the next 2 years ALL the West Coast Corps will be the ones to watch, there will be a lot of hype and push and recruiting will be easy as the 2/3's will be going to the Midwest this year and then stay close to home in 07.

When I heard it on the Broadcast, I laughed, the whole brodcasting part seemed too scripted. BEST EVER? No way. Top 5 in the 30 plus year history of DCI, Without a Doubt one of the top 5 shows ever performed.

Some of those shows were not even copyrighted. Some of the finals were owned by the station that broadcasted and produced them.

George, Serious question....are you planning to send a formal invite to DCI to review your poll numbers? Persoanlly I don't think if the poll said 99% want narration out of DCI, that DCI would even care. I'm just really impressed on how overwhelming the voting has been.

Hands down, this is the 2006 show........... I can see the fans dancing in the stands now!
