  1. Were there ever t shirts put out by Disney for Future Corps?
  2. Crossmen 2004 has a good pre show shout out. You can hear someone yell out "Get away from me!" which was an homage to an incident where George Hopkins was giving instructions to members of the Bones on a movie night with The Cadets. It was one of our best hypes.
  3. No one would ever produce, distribute, or buy that game. The onion already called out the pitfalls of their spin off "Sousaphone Hero."
  4. I found this interesting: http://kanstul.net/pages/miscpgs/bprice.html Current price listings for Kanstul G bugles
  5. I think the resale value of an instrument is more important than the initial price for a horn line. Today, many groups get new instruments almost every year because the sponsorship they have with a manufacturer allows them to sell horns after a season has ended for more money than they originally paid. There simply isn't a large enough market for G bugles to facilitate this kind of cycle.
  6. Why no recruiting in Michigan? Because you touch yourself at night. (gratuitous family guy quote)
  7. With satellite radio it wouldn't be hard to get a marching music station. Just imagine trading off between drum corps and Howard Stern...
  8. If you use an elliptical trainer you can go backwards and not look like an idiot.
  9. I'd like to see someone do a Joe Zawinul show since he died last month. Crossmen haven't done Birdland since 2000...
  10. I'm a little bit skeptical of either Surf or Spartans making semifinals. Of the top 17, who would be ousted?
  11. Let’s take this a step further and see what people think Home breweries are growing more popular and I know several people who make their own beer. They do a great job, it’s relatively inexpensive, and it’s always unique. What if a drum corps raised money by selling a signature malt beverage? Every year Sam Adams holds a home brew contest; this could be a way to spread the name recognition of the activity!
  12. Speaking from personal experience, this past season was my 4th div 1 tour and the first where I supplemented with protein shakes. Usually I would come home looking emaciated, unhealthy, and with significantly less muscle mass. This year I came back looking better than ever because I lost fat and kept the muscle. Further, I didn't suffer the typical morning soreness of tour. So I guess the bottom line is that supplements worked for me and so I would recommend exploring products that could give you a competitive edge.
  13. We should get someone to rock some hard core steroids next season and see how they turn out. Little human growth hormone, some horse testosterone...
  14. I would recommend a trip to your local GNC store. Wheybolic Extreme 60 is a whey and leucine mix that will give you 60 grams of protein with every serving and increases protein synthesis. L-Glutamine fuels your immune system. Creatine draws more water into the muscles so you can work them for longer periods without fatigue. Finally, you can load up on their supercharged sports multi-vitamins. Thanks to my gold card, I had my best drum corps summer ever this past season. Remember, DCI has yet to pass a performance enhancing substance abuse policy. Don’t let this opportunity slip away!
  15. I sincerely believe that this thread is more degrading to the Drum Corps activity than electronics or voice could ever be. I also hate the cat pictures.
  16. So I'd like to know what other people have to say about this. Which is worse: Showers that are too hot or showers that are too cold? I personally believe it's easier to deal with the cold shower because it's a motivation to be quick about your routine.
  17. Here's what the tournament of bands circuit has to say about the topic: "10. PROHIBITED ITEMS: The discharge of firearms or pyrotechnic displays is not permitted. For this purpose, pyrotechnics is defined as the use of any device involving explosives or fire. The use of fire extinquisher and/or CO2 devises is prohibited. The release of helium-filled objects is prohibited. No live animals, except for seeing eye dogs are permitted. The penalty for violation of this rule is disqualification." Now wouldn't that be a sight to train seeing eye dogs drill so that they may lead an entirely blind drum corps.
