  1. oh brother - lectured from someone preaching "mutual respect" but in the same sentence telling me to "get a clue" too funny!
  2. 1. Cadets 2. Blue Devils 3. Cavaliers 4. Carolina Crown 5. Bluecoats 6. Phantom Regiment 7. Santa Clara Vanguard 8. Blue Knights 9. Boston Crusaders 10. Colts 11. Blue Stars 12. Academy ehh - fixed a typo...
  3. and they believe in PRACTICE yesterday - 13 1/2 hours today - five hour marching block just on the big pictures in the opener CRANK it up Cadets!!!
  4. dude - the "annoying truth" is that the creative process can be ugly - and usually is - and then all of a sudden > genius.
  5. hmm - I liked it. Lot's of concerts have elements like that today.
  6. Matt - you have a lot of nerve bringing logic into this discussion.
  7. hmmm - I am *really* glad I decided to head to CA / now - I was planning on watching II/III today from home (I fly there in the AM) but that obviously isn't going to happen :( I am worried too for all you folks depending on / counting on the Friday webcast of Semis - hope it works out for you guys!!! That would suck!
  8. DCP was never limited in its purpose - that's why we included DCA & Historical Discussions from the onset. You were saying "why" DCP was created / that was the why = the catalyst Now - the OP. This thread "Blah" would have been locked under the original guidelines of DCP because it has an inflammatory title. "Blah" is not a constructive way to start a conversation - it does not promote meaningful - but rather - reactionary debate. I am not sure how I feel about it anymore - DCP is a little "looser" than it used to be / there are good & bad points to that. The bottomline is - PERSONALLY - I am not much for someone poo-pooing today's activity or the members achievements. But that's just me.
  9. Dude - you were trying to inform US "why DCP was created" As creator I have the right / obligation to correct that My or your "job in the real world" has nothing to do with anything. DCP was - in fact - created to discuss *todays* activity and get away from the constant bashing of RAMD re: "how today sucks vs yesterday" Discussion is great. But coming on a site - registering - and then coming right back to state to all "I'm done with it - it's not drum corps anymore" is much more what was wrong with RAMD than what is right about DCP.
  10. yeah - and the first time I heard this was when I first got involved in the activity in 1978 - guys said this to me in the stands while he was moaning and groaning about what was going on in the activity.
  11. you mean like showing respect for the differences of today's drum corps activity vs when you happened to march??? yes - that is why DCP is here - MUTUAL respect. One-way respect is not.
  12. Lee - I totally agree BRAVO to the 2007 Crossmen and the Texas organization - they are really cool & I feel they are building a strong foundation for the future I could care less where they place this week - I am looking forward to seeing them a couple more times. GREAT stuff / one of the best things on the field this summer!!
  13. He was being sarcastic. Not all views are created equal.
  14. Uh - I think I know why DCP was created. Especially considering I was the fellow who created it... The ACTUAL reason it was created was because a bunch of has-beens were moaning about "today's" activity and constantly griping about how much better things used to be. They had turned the primary forum of the time - RAMD - into their personal soap box - informing the rest of us 24/7 how things used to be and why things suck now. This "Blah" attitude IS the reason DCP was created. The attitude that "things should always stay exactly the way they happened to be when a particular person marched" sucks and I'll continue to state such.
  15. she said she "left telling her friends I'm tired of fighting it" / I took that to mean she left while they were still watching the show anyway - why are YOU still reading the DIV I forum / all you do is moan about how much better it *used* to be - that got old from you back in 2003 when you first started it welcome to my ignore list
  16. are they still serving beer in Denver. I'll never forget the behavior of that mob in 1993 - last time attending DATR / swore I'd never go there again until they stopped serving beer to that crowd.
  17. oh blah blah poo poo... So you registered for DCP *this* July 18th - went to Standford and now you've come back on DCP today to inform us all you walked out in the middle of the show and are officially "done" with drum corps Ya know- when I'm done with something - I'm just plain done. I don't go on websites announcing it. Sounds like you've got a point/agenda you're trying to make. In the immortal words of my ex - See ya!!
  18. correct / see Will Call - they will help you. Just bring photo ID and any other documentation (like the CC statement) - they can look up your tix and get you a pass to get to your seats don't worry - it will be ok!!! :) enjoy :)
  19. He says "Whenever I play my trumpet something magical happens" Randy - get your mind out of the gutter :)
  20. Oh yeah - that show has "wussification" written all over it. The 215 bmp company front oblique - the crazy brass and percussion parts, the tough-as-nails guard book, oh yeah - and the crazy military-style physical condition the corps has gone through all summer. Welcome to my ingnore list. :P
  21. Oh believe me - if someone "boos" any corps around me they'll get a mouthful. The boo-birds back down very quickly - it's a cowardly act in the first place - not to mention CLASSLESS I lost my patience with booing during the 1991-1993 streak of Star successes when (mostly) Madison Scout "fans" booed them nightly. And yeah - I'm still ticked off. Two words >> NO CLASS
  22. thanks for the review!!! I agree with many of your impressions...
