  1. The first parades were the Memorial Day parades in Garfield and Lodi in 1994/1995 with a dozen horns and 4 drums outfitted in red golf shirts, black pants, and baseball caps. 1996/1997 saw the first GAS performance, more parades, and other indoor appearances as the corps continued to grow. On Sept 5 1998, in 105 degrees in Allentown PA, the then 70-man horn line put on an exhibition at the DCA World Championships playing a host of well known, old favorites. Hey Darth, I thought the very first parade was in South Amboy? I remember that for two reasons. The first is that Tommy Swan ( prayers ) got us the parade and the second is I dropped my brand new mouthpiece Stork LT10 in the street and remember thinking that's what I get for helping out! I was also in line for that DCA exhibition in 1998 at the World Championships. What a lead line!! Joe Dafig, Bob Farrell, Johnny G, Tommy Keegan, Joe C, yourself, me and I know there were others. Was Bobby Burke, Grass or Sidemouth there?

  7. Yes, they are their real names! What do you expect from a North Jersey drum corps LOL. Funny you should mention it because Charlie "Darth" Vayda got us all Soprano t-shirts for Christmas with the Soprano's lettering ( from the TV show ) Cool shirts and a great idea. Hey Charlie, if you see this link can you attach that picture from practice when you handed out the shirts?
  8. Hi Mike. Thanks for the review. The other lead sop you were talking about would be Tony Ross who played the solo in House Of The Rising Sun. There were 2 other lead sops that were there also. I thought you would have recognized former Skyliner Donato Glussi and former Sunriser Frank Diliberto. Rocky last played with us in May at the Secaucus show. Also missing was another former Bridgemen John Giannullo and lastly Eric Leonhart.

  17. Tony and Don last played Rudi together in 1970. I believe Tony was the drum instructor in 1972 the last year the junior corps performed. He then was the drum instructor of the Alumni corps along with being director for the first coupe of years
  18. Strutta it won't be the same without you and the boyz in the line this year. So, you can take a "Buglers Holiday" in reality! Hopefully, you and the guys will hang with us at the Sands after the show if you come up. Kevin threatened me that I have to stay up until 5am or else!! And yes we will have plenty of Bud.
  19. Hey Darth. I have a better idea. Why don't you come and leave the cheese ( your horn ) at home? I could not resist sorry!!! I know, you owe me one. You have to wait till Plymouth for that. Hey Bob..... Pertty hard for me to pass San Vito's on 19th and B-Way! Hey Liz....What's cookin' nevermind.. LOL you already told us. Hope to see you all one of these days before year end. Joe
  20. I thought the mini corps did an outstanding job. I really liked the mix of percussion and brass. I believe it was the biggest percussion section of any mini corps that night. And it worked. I also thought the placement should have been one spot higher. And last but not least, it was great to see my old soprano section buddy that I marched with in Blue Stars. We had not seen each other since we walked off the field VFW National Champions in 1977 in Minneapolis, Mn. Shout out to Steve ( Doc ) Severance
