Blue Stars -- Back in finals!
bscontra replied to victorcoly's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
thanks for noticing the work we did in the lean years ! -
umm it was always a 5 point star many members turned it in to a jewish star ( for reasons of bonding with the corps song etc but still we usually used 5 point stars in drills sometimes a 6 point here and there in the early 2000's alot of stuff got blown out of proportion by vets,, people thinking stuff was tradition when they were not really BTW when I was teaching a bit in winter of 2008 many kids still had jewish star tats, necklaces, etc...
-
hey we both joke about it there is no prob at all
-
Dave, I understand its all good man let me know if it is a lock for o-fest I will do my best to be up for it also! I will buy first round of city beer !
-
I also think that the BoD is more then capable of making choices and if I am right they are open to the public so if people have problems feel free to go but for the people that are on the BoD that I marched with I trust there decisions most of them marched in Blue Stars longer then any of us !! Plus Brad Furlano is at the helm (and anyone that marched for 12 years and been teaching or admin rolls 12+years) know what is good for the corps h.e.l.l. I sit in a cube most of my days talking to music stores and teachers ... I Daydream I wish I could be where those kids are right now at least I had a (VERY) small part on helping them get there
-
thanks !! I did get her to work the Blue Stars Brat Stand 2 time so far !!!
-
I wanna do the p-raid but I am attaching a ball and chain 3 weeks after octoberfest so I got to OK it with her
-
Dave, you know I see what you are talking about and I used to get made when they pulled the stripes or took away the white bucks but then I started seeing stuff like: -the corps singing jewish - clapping for other corps - walking in pairs - good attuide - saying thank you when you go through the food line - working hard - becoming brothers and sister with each other - making themselfs and the corps better - being Blue stars -The End Crowns The Work dave me and you both marched in the small blue stars but if it was not for the many corps members that stayed and bled blue in the lean years there would be no blue stars now many people that marched in the 60's and 70's dogged us because we were not a open class corps now we are doing the same stupid thing about uni's and stuff we have no control of the kids are still coming out at the end of the summer "BLUE STARS" just like you or me did (just with less bus break downs and minus the ###### horns) and Dave I still love you man you blead alot of blue
-
ohh we used to use tons of it to keep them on when I marched
-
99 was a good corps but man did I love that corps in 96 !! amazing small horn line I think like 26 horns or something beat 2 corps in div 2 that had 60 + horn lines I also think they got like 15th place in open class that year 98 was a good year for them also
-
