Why would you march Cadets?

Guess I should answer my own question

Why would I march Cadets, because they always....always have one heck of a horn line and they play challenging music. The controversial stuff/themes is really secondary to the achievement of being part of that horn line.

last sentence = funny :P

Heh, as I typed it I didn't even think of what it meant, but decided to keep it. Hope it made someone laugh :)

yeah, contrary to what some think, very few people ever crossed over from Bones to Cadets...both organizations are steeped in tradition and once you march in one your loyalties are pretty much set

Very true, my family was a bit of an oddity....we were a split household: my older sister and younger brother both marched Crossman and I marched Cadets :)

Oh and I did march Cadets because I fell in love with the Mello line in 1983 and then again every year after that. Honestly, when I tried out in '86, I was sure I wouldn't make it. I felt like a kid in little league trying out for the Yankees :D

Peace,

Cathie

In addition to the musical reasons, because while most corps have their own party during retreat at finals, The Cadets stand silently.

No. Because I honestly couldn't take tours with the vocals, especially this year. Not to mention the fact that they are suggesting that those of us that chose to perform in a marching medium "didn't fit in" and so we sought this medium to find our lot in life. Suggestive symbolism hurts some people even more than racism.

Nothing personal to this year's performers, but it's not my cup of tea.

No, they suggested that the person speaking didn't fit in and he found his place in this world in music.

Maybe they should have played "You're so vain"
