Crown is not the new Star

Recommended Posts

Carolina Crown the new Star? No, they are the new Cadets.

I don't mean the current Cadets, more like the Cadets from the 80's.

I mean this as a compliment to Crown because Cadets of the 80's were :lol::doh: .

So, would you like to list some reasons (i can think of a few), or should I begin a thread saying that crown is the new scv, because i feel like it...

Am I the only one who feels this way, or are there other getting a little tired of one corps being called "the next (blank)"? Why is it that Crown cannot just be Crown, providing their own unique spin on things, as opposed to being the next Star or Cadets? Although, I imagine that if these comparison threads (the next Star, the next Cadets, the next SCV) continue, eventually the only corps remaining that they will NOT have been compared to is themselves.

Crown had a great style and sound this year and the fans were swooning over them. I'll bet their recruiting numbers go through the roof for 08'.

this is getting out of hand. i'm still waiting to hear any credible evidence that says this corps is like that corps. people are asserting these beliefs (which is fine) but then offering nothing in the way of back up for their opinion.

I don't think Crown or anyone at Crown's said anything about being the "next (insert corps here)". It's all these DCP kids that sit at home at their mom's house with nothing to do.

Amen

My sentiments exactly. It's somewhat insulting to constantly refer to Crown as the reincarnation of a former corps and, frankly, I've not yet read one of these threads that offers any data to support the assertion. If having staff members who used to be affiliated with another corps is the strength of the argument, it's a pretty lame argument because that pretty much applies to most corps. IMO, they are Crown and I love everything they are doing.
