Phantom Regiment -- The Future....

Recommended Posts

Rosza music is distinctive, thematic, and melodious. Which is why no drum corps can use it. Not enough tension and release, fanfare and fugue.

One of my favorites from Ben Hur is Parade of the Charioteers. St Patricks Imperials of Milwaukee played it in 1971.

Hmmm---- Not sure if this was in agreement or in sarcasm, but in any event ...............

No, I'm serious. Rosza's "El Cid" score is fantastic music. If you can find it, there's a good CD out there, recorded in 1995 by James Sedares and the New Zealand Symphony. It was released by Koch International Classics, # 3-7340-2 H1

Back in the 1960's many corps played selections from Ben Hur, King of Kings and El Cid, including St. Kevins, St. Mary's Cardinals and Blessed Sac. It would be great to hear this music on the field again.

I know "Quo Vadis" was in there too so I need to check corpsreps!
