Andyroo
Don't you dare go to bed and leave everyone hanging! Yawn.... Sorry, I was watching the football game. Anyway, the corps in question was St. Mary's Drum & Bugle Corps of Beverly, Mass. This was the corps' uniform from 1950 to 1953. In 1954, the corps got new uniforms and adopted the name "Cardinals" at that same time. The photo was probably taken while the corps was filing into the church for the services surrounding the May Procession - an event that all you Catlic boys and girls should remember. Of major importance in this particular photo is the restaurant in the background - Ted's. Many were the members of corps from throughout the Boston area who came to Ted's, and many were the drum-corps relationships that were started at Ted's (although there were none consummated there that I'm aware of - but it certainly wasn't for lack of effort).
