spiritbari05
the stock screamer note for trumpet nowadays is a double concert F (the F above the F that sits on the top line of the staff). in 03-05, scott dean played a lot of Bbs above the F mentioned above, and on finals night in 05, you can hear him playing a concert D above the Bb mentioned above. some sick stuff, if you ask me. NR_Ohiobando
Okay, so I went around to checkin it myself. Concert C seems to be the highest one mentioned so far...with a few ties Madison Scouts 1986 - Concert C Blue Devils 1991 - 3rd solo of the 4some at the end of the show plays Concert C Madison Scouts 2005 - The last of the "Doit"s goes up to a Concert C I'm not sure if it was Scott Dean who did the solo in 03, but that was a Concert Bb. The 04 ones were also Bbs(except he overshot the first solo at the end and made it a B ). The 05 show had a few Bbs, as well as a B natural in the closer. the stock screamer note for trumpet nowadays is a double concert F (the F above the F that sits on the top line of the staff). in 03-05, scott dean played a lot of Bbs above the F mentioned above, and on finals night in 05, you can hear him playing a concert D above the Bb mentioned above. some sick stuff, if you ask me. I missed it, can you give me an estimate of where it was? Edited October 31, 2007 by NR_Ohiobando
JMS0527
There was a concert C (same octave) by a soloist at the beginning of the Cadets' show in '82...very rough but it was hit nonetheless So basically we have '82 Cadets, '86 Madison, and '91 Blue Devils Edited October 31, 2007 by JMS0527
spiritbari05
ohiobando...it's at the end of the show at the 10:08-09 mark. it's a hold over, obviously haha, and although it's pretty faint it's there.
rosski47
scouts '96 had a pretty high one, that dutch (?) guy.bd '05 early season had a trumpet solo that got changed....original version was insanely high. That was Scott. His early season solo(before the change) was NUTS!!!!!

Captncontra
...but I heard somewhere that that is the highest note a trumpet can physically make. I think Maynard Ferguson has something to say about that... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLtP0L5dIq8 Simply sublime from 2:35 on. Maynard was only 22 in this video.
