  1. The SCV You tube peeps are quick to snipe these pre-season videos! I can't say I blame them for wanting to protect their product, but man I would have loved to see it first :)
  2. Wow a few of you guys are right it will be tough not to string this list out too long. I will try to hit just the ones that made me tear up more than once: 87' SCV Final Push. Russian Christmas Music was my intro to DCI and what Drum Corps was. This power and grace on the field (or tape in my case) was more than I was prepared for. I still well up a bit every time I see that! 88' or 89' SCV Music of the Night The show was beautifully done both years, but they really nailed the push IMO in 88. The power was and is just something I only wish I could have experienced for myself live. 94' Phantom Regiment Claire de Lune, beauty and grace the ability to play so beautifully and artistically amazed me and forever upped the bar for other corps. 03' Phantom Regiment Cannon in D and the Reprise just awesomesauce! 07' SCV The section from Church windows. I loved the music when the corps kneels down and leaned back as the power and volume grew, yeah they had me! 07' Carolina Crown Attending my first finals with my wife and finding her favorite corps. I looked over several times during the show (Wild Horses and near the William Tell Overture) to see her in tears. I was so happy to share my emotional connection to the shows. To this day she asks me to play here the DVD of that show. This summer she will get to see Crown live again and I hope to renew her emotional connection yet again. 07' Phantom Regiment at the end of Firebird the unbelievable athleticism showed by the corps to run just flat out run and blow our faces off! That is all I have for now. But I can't wait until this summer starts to make some more memories and take a chance at getting a little misty eyed once or twice again
  3. I am sure there is something prior that was bought for me, but the first purchase I made with my money was a 1994 BD/Cadets East meets West t-shirt. It was pretty badd a**! It had images of both horn lines and both drum lines on the front, and that year those two battled it out to the end!
  4. Okay just three huh, well this is incredibly hard!I would like to apologize to all the great corps and performances including my faves that will be left out. Okay my three, and these aren't specifically my favorite three but the three I wanted to see live: 1989 SCV: This show narrowly beating out 87' SCV which is the show that introduced me to DCI. This show has been voted best ever by scores of people and for good reason. The power, pageantry, and emotiontion displayed that night in Kansas City was a spectacl to be present for!To this day twnetysomething years after I heard it for the first time the final push of Music of the Night still can bring this large man to a tear or two. 1988 BD: I listened to a cassette tape of that show for two years before I saw the show and knew it was Blue Devils. They were full of beauty grace and oh that vintage BD horline!! Now I would much rather see it going on last that night as it should have but thats a different forum topic 1991 Star of Indiana: This narrowly beating out great choices in 08' and 89' Phantom, but I have never seen precision and difficulty like what was on display that night. To hear the screaming melo's and thunderous drum's from the center 50 would be amazing! But the best part would to be right there in awe of the cross to cross ending that brought down the house and would be fully worth not being able to speak for a week!
  5. What the heck I'll take a crack at it too! 1. Crown: This corps is just beautiful to see and hear! 2. BD: Love it of hate it (I really like it) the show works. It looks good sounds great and they will be near perfect at it by Finals. 3. Cadets: I like the show but just don't think it will be a true contender 4. Phantom: I was torn here but they are just like candy for your eyes and ears. 5. SCV: I love the show and am glad to hear them properly again this year. If they keep making the strides they have since early season this may be too low! 6. Bluecoats 7. Madison 8. Boston 9. Cavies: Sorry boys everyone has a down year every decade or so. 10. Spirit 11. X-Men 12. Blue Knights
  6. I've seen a lot of great ideas and things that I would buy. I am a full flegded workng adult now and tend to spend a pretty penny when I go to a show. Things I would add, couldn't agree more with the retro shirt idea!! And as for the T-shirts be aware that some of your non-marching fans are how shoud I say umm a little fluffy, myself of course included. Make a small section of shirts that are 2-3XL for the big guys and gals. Oh and I love the posters, I have the SCV 04' and 05' posters they ae in my man cave and they look sweet!
  7. This is a very hard decision to make with just one chioce per year, but I'll try (Oh and I'm a drummer): 1990: Blue Devils, Tommy was just so cool! 1991: Star just by a hair over SCV, I loved Miss Saigon and that drumline was baddazz! 1992: Gotta go with Velvet Knights, I loved BD and SCV (they were the first two shows I saw live) but Oh to be the crowd favorite and look into the stands when they recieved that ovation! 1993: SCV one of the guys that taught me how to play drums was on that snare line and they were rediculous! 1994: BD spanish fantasy was my favorite shows of the 90's, Phantom was a close 2nd, Claire de une still makes me weep 1995: Cavies for the pure precision and power of Mars and the rest of the planets 1996: Maddison Drum corps fan's dream, well I'm a fan and I could only dream f being in that show. 1997: BD, I really don't know verymany shows from this year 1998: Crossmen I love when they do Pat Matheny 1999: SCV as a life long fan I would want to have won a title with them and with a great show to boot!
  8. One that I'm sruprised that I hadn't seen: 2007 Phantom Regiment Fire Bird, Sprinting and blowing your face off!!!
  9. I had to flip a coin between 07 and 09 SCV. Eureka! was my first finals live and I loved that show, but 09' had me in tears at the push! So Martha get's it!
  10. I have one from a couple of years ago it's an SCV shirt and it looks like the Verizon logo on the front (Vanguard instead of Verizon) and say's can you hear us now! On the back.
  11. Anyone think they won't pull out something special. I think these kids with these shows the sky is the limit!
