tubamann
Maybe because they are using tubas NOW...instead of contras.... exactly. Call them what they are. Edited January 4, 2008 by tubamann
SACMellos2010
We did march 16 in 1992 and we used the same line of King 2 Valve G bugles from 1985 through 1993. In my opinion one of the biggest reasons, other than Jim Prime's arranging and the staff approach, to our sound in 1992 was the base being built by 16 contras. It is like building a pyramid and making sure the base is very solid.
crown fan
24,16,24,16 Cool, I couldn't make it to the Dec camp, and now I can't wait to hear them at the January Camp!
crown fan
MORE CONTRA!!! Is that the same thing as "more cowbell?"
Hrothgar15
There are videos of the corps performing excerpts from the show online. Try to find them. You will pee a little.

louielouie
A friend of mine thats marching Crown told me that they are marching 16 tubas this year. I'm going to the next camp and try to get one of those spots. Hopefully, I can make it. Has anybody ever marched 16 tubas, I have only counted 12 the past few years with some corps having 10? I can't wait!!! thats because it's a waste.
Harmonious Cacophony
Yeah..and that brass staff all teaches CC now, and THEY call them tubas. So there. At first, I thought by CC you meant CC tubas, instead of BBb. It would be interesting to see a corps march a couple of bass tubas (pitched in F or Eb) in addition to the contrabasses. Maybe if we can convince a corps to do a British brass band show... 16, that is certainly a large number. I hope their line's quality does not decrease with an increase in quantity.
