josh161
one thing that always stuck in my mind was to not say "good luck" but to say "do well". good luck implies that there is luck involved. theres no luck in drum corps there is performance. our baritone section leader gave us this speech before finals at P.C.C.. i got a championship ring on my finger today ;) thanks dave! gjdavistuba
I would most agree with the "look bad ###" piece of advice. HOWEVER, I think many people mistake this as "do the shako bob" or "scrunch down and try and look hardcore". The most intense you will ever look is when you look TOTALLY relaxed, and look like everything comes easy to you. If you TRY and look bad ###, then you'll try to hard, and end up looking strained and....well, dorky. Don't want a bunch of bandos running around on the field, now do we? Schickmeister
just think about all of the fun and bad things you are going to do in the lot after the shows over.
2ndSop4Life
- when you're having a crappy day, just think of the reasons why you're there. - make them watch you, in a GOOD WAY - rehearse they way you perform, remember there is usually always someone watching, so every rehearsal is a performance - use the time on the bus to get in whatever mind state you need to be in. usually there's plenty of time to do it - remember: you only have a limited amount of performances and run-throughs. take advantage of every one of them. you don't want to end the season regretting any moment of it - don't get too excited and stick out of the ensemble - don't just look bad ###, be a bad ###

Mersinger3
Get in the Zone , and dont let anything take you out of it . I was in the zone the second i was off the bus , until the second i got back on it . Dont let any tick , no matter how big get you out of the zone . also , remember that there is only a fixed amount of time for you to do the show , i got that during finals week when i couldnt say " i will fix it next week" There was no "next week"
