gsksun4
Since "Malaguena" is probably the most played song in drum corps history, what would be the 2nd most played song? Just a guess..."Battle Hymn" ? That's a pretty good guess right there. Plug that into corps reps and see what happens. It almost knocks their server off line. Also try America the Beautiful and be ready to scroll baby scroll. The patriotic songs carried a lot of weight back in the day, what with color presentations and all. Anything from West Side Story was also off the map. The biblical stuff wasn't too shabby either. My only regret was that Cab Calloway's Minnie the Moocher was played by only 4 corps. BigDale
Frosty the Snowman-he melted As always sung by Big Adam Slygowski: "Off we go, into the wild blue yonder.......CRASH!!!" Or the WE song, which I or Lurch got to lead: "Weeeeee are faaaalling, Deep in Sin........WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Harrisburg is going to be fun. NYSkyliner
OK. Being one who always appreciates lyrics which both complement and support the musical line, I feel I must interject that one of my all time favorites, and apparently many staff members with whom I've been privileged to work, is "Charlotte the Harlot"J Would the medley continue with "In The Cottage Next To Mine"? Donny Drum Corps
"In the evening by the moonlight" was always a fave of mine.
Martybucs
I forget what year it was, late sixties, we played, "The Summer Wind", as our closer. It was just really cool and laid back and fun to play. One of my favorites, don't know if any of the big guys ever did it.
