The videos of the drumline on there are absurd. The end of that show for the battery is just so... hype. They're playing at their ears for like the last minute and a half. I mean, yeah, there wasn't a lot of loud stuff at the beginning of the show, but they played so clean, and so under control, and the last minute makes up for any lack of loudness in the first half. I'm pretty sure it was '06 when they came in second to Cavies, and they played Elsa's towards them after retreat. Pretty sure there's a video somewhere. So good. Well your post inspired me to do some of my own searching on a certain web site. Good God. That has to be one of the most musical books ever written, and that line played with a dynamic range that is untouched in todays drum corps IMO. Sorry i missed it - i was sort of busy marching off the field for the last time ever. I also know for a fact that noone played to us in 05, but that was probably because we had a total of 30 seconds to get our medals and run the entire show again for an encore before the stadium staff shut the lights off on us.
