Cabsleadbari79
Can you believe that in 46 days the 2008 DCA Drum Corps Season will open in Sunny Wildwood NJ? You are all invited to what is becoming the most anticipated contest of the year. The 5th Annual Cabs Beach Party will be held this year at the newly refurbished Historic Maxwell Field. Maxwell Field had been the site of more NJ American Legion & VFW State championship than you can count. Hundreds of Jr. Corps have graced the hollowed ground at Maxwell Field names, like the Hawthorne Muchachos, Garfield Cadets, Bayonne Bridgemen, Blue Rock, Polish Falcons, Saints, Valley Grenadiers and the Hawthorne Caballeros just to name a few. You will find yourself looking over to the old stating line and seeing the ghosts of drum corps past. The dust bowl and low wooden stands have been replaced by new grandstands and turf that was transplanted from Lambeau field in Green Bay Wisconsin. You don’t want to miss the 5th Annual Cabs Beach Party June 21, 2008 Contest Starts at 6:30 PM In competition Fusion Core, Dover NJ 2007’s new up start corps returning even bigger and better. TomMoore
Wow. Only 45 days until Wildwood! Always a great weekend and a great way to start the competitive season. Alan and the Caballeros family put on a great show! The Blue team from Pretzeltown is looking forward to the 5th Annual Cabs Beach Party! CorpsBuff
Pretzeltown? I noticed in a trip back home recently that Reading Brewery is making beverages again. So maybe Beertown? If anything I'd call Reading Pagodaville, Train City, or the ever popular Baseballtown!
Kyle B
I'm looking forward to performing down in Wildwood this year!
TomMoore
Pretzeltown? I noticed in a trip back home recently that Reading Brewery is making beverages again. So maybe Beertown? If anything I'd call Reading Pagodaville, Train City, or the ever popular Baseballtown! Well, young grasshopper, at the risk of turning Al's thread hyping a great drum corps contest into an off-topic discussion of historical monikers, one of the many names for the town the Buccaneers call home is Pretzel City -- given the area's prodigious production and consumption of pretzels over the years. To this day, Bachman, Tom Sturgis and Unique all call Reading home. If you'd like to learn more, you can read more about it here. I know of at least one drum corps writer who has affectionately referred to the Balance in Blue as "the Pirateers of Pretzeltown." That's a lot of syllables, but is kinda cool! We now return to your regularly scheduled thread, which is -- and should be -- about the Cabs Beach Party. It's going to be great! stansea
Anyone know if moving the Cabs' show to Maxwell Field means the seats are now assigned, or if reserved tickets are first-come-first-served "concert side" seats?
