Believe me when I say, having a pay-per-view broadcast has been investigated by DCI numerous times, and each time it's been determined that it's not a cost effective option. Knowing what I do about the broadcast industry, I have to agree with DCI's findings. Its NOT a smart business move.

I agree. the costs of the broadcast crew, satelittle time etc is a ton alone. The real trick then is etting enough cabe companies to carry it to make it viable.

i'll give you an example....WWE runs 14 PPV's a year. They all make money, but they all have at a minimum 200,000 people who pay for them, plus bars who pay extra to run them knowing they will have a bunch of people there not paying the $39.95 to see it.

I have read in many places that boxing and WWE, hands down the #1 and #2 PPV folks of all time need $125k purchases to break even. Does DCI have that kind of numbers to make it worthwhile? No. To make it ocst effective, you're looking at a price of $100 or more to do so. How many people will spend that much for a charge to show up in 60 days on their cable bill? That price is almost the same price to be there live at the show.
