word! It is confusing.

Either way, the answer is probably the War.

And a lot of other stuff that we may or may not agree with ... not sure how any of it relates to the fact that The Commandant's Own still give me goosebumps every year ....

Agreed - I think more of our defense spending should go toward drum corps. We should get a DCI lobbiest!

ok for 08 so far....

blue stars toward the end with the "babe" theme

and i am not sure why but the beginning of the bluecoats show (even with the vocal influence) i really do love the "dci is proud..." placement.

those are the two that just jump out i need to go watch and listen to this years shows again

99 scouts the big hit and the whole reprise....just a major goosebump straight through

the blue stars playing jewish chorale...but i am biased.

Just a few off the top of my head...

Early 1970's

First time seeing Troopers do the sunburst, and the rifle exchange "through" the DM.

First time seeing Kingsmen (CYO?)

27th Lancers playing Shenandoah.

Mid 1970's

Bottle Dance

Seeing 1975 Madison from the 50 yard line and getting my hair parted.

Muchacho's whole show 1975

Coming out of the tunnel in Philly to perform at DCI finals in 1976 and hearing the crowd reaction to Bridgemen's "fainting".

"In the Stone"

1980's

1980 DCI finals - the entire show!!

1980 27th Lancers performance at DCI East. A homey, but OMG what a perfect show!

1988 Madison's "Malaguena". Bottle that, and put Red Bull out of business.

1989 SCV - the push at the end of "Music of the Night". Engineers are still trying to get the stands back into their original position.

1990's

1994 - Blue Devils - best sop solos evah!

1994 - The roar of the audience at the end of 27th's "Crown Imperial". I was on the field and it felt like a tornado! I spoke on the field for the first time in my life - - "Holy %$^&!!!!!!!!".

1996 Crossmen doing "Birdland" and "A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square".

1996 "Beeeeeeeef!!!!"

1996 Encore with BD and Phantom cheering each other on. Totally what drum corps is all about. Two champions, no envy, just brother/sisterhood. Ecstacy!

2000's

Haven't attended many shows, but both BAC and Cadets in 2000 were wonderful, life-affirming shows.
