I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon watching the Velvet Knights practice. The show is really entertaining; they made me laugh a lot, and it's the most I've laughed at a drum corps show since, oh, I dunno, the Velvet Knights? But beyond that, this is a really talented drum corps, and an outstanding group of young people, and I'm very, very proud of them. The members, staff and everyone are really working hard to bring this show in for a couple of tremendous performances for DCI week...I would highly recommend you get to see them. The show held my interest--they got the crowd involved early and were a big hit. And with the seriousness they are showing on the practice field, this ain't over, clearly!

So yeah, it's been a great Sunday of drum corps!

As somebody who was at the show, I really didn't see Devils ahead of Surf by THAT much tonight, and one of their staff members sitting behind me even admitted they had a bit of a bad show. Go fig.
