  1. No problems in Springfield, OR. The only thing that wasn't great about it was the volume. It was a bit soft.
  2. I'm probably going to be the only person in the theater on Wednesday. :P I'm going to the Cinemark in Springfield, OR.
  3. Since the merge of Cascades and Thunder, a few of us here in the NW have been referring to them as....... The Spokattle Thundercades
  4. Two off the top of my head: Santa Clara Vanguard 1989 - Music of the Night Phantom Regiment 2008 - Spartacus
  5. Oregon Crusaders will be there. I'm definitely looking forward to it. :)
  6. Camp went great! I can't wait until the December camp.
  7. AWESOME! I cannot wait to audition! I'll see you all on Saturday!
  8. I wish I could've gone to PASIC this year. Not to compete, just to watch. I just sent a text message to my friend who competed in the HS snare division and he wrote back telling me that he took first place. I'm happy for him.
  9. I was just about the post this. I'm in class in the computer lab and decided to check up on the site and found this. I can NOT wait. I hope I can audition for both summer and winter.
  10. I checked it out earlier today. Thanks. =]
  11. Hey, I'm auditioning for my first year of corps soon for the Oregon Crusaders. I was wondering if anyone else here was going to go out for OC this season. If so, what instrument/position are you trying out for? Mike
  12. Began in marching band...still in marching band actually! I'm hoping to march my first year of corps this next summer. I'm really nervous. :)
  13. Is Southwind fielding a corps this year? I hear they were but I'm not completely sure.
  14. I attended my first drum corps show in the summer of 2006. I was 15 and about to be a sophomore in highschool. From what I remember, the corps were: Santa Clara Vanguard Blue Knights Seattle Cascades Oregon Crusaders Spokane Thunder I don't remember much of the show, really. I don't remember if it really affected me at all. The reason I went was because my drumline section leader was playing tenors with the Oregon Crusaders and I wanted to see him play. Last year, my junior year, was when I was really inspired to go out for corps. I saw a video of Phantom Regiment's 2003 show, Harmonic Journey and I instantly fell in love. This summer I the opportunity to go to my 2nd drum corps show and the corps were: Phantom Regiment Blue Devils Velvet Knights Oregon Crusaders Spokane Thunder It was a show that I won't ever forget. This November, I will be auditioning for the 2009 Seattle Cascades and Oregon Crusaders. It's my first time auditioning for corps, so I'm a tiny bit nervous. =]
  15. It's strange...I picked up my sticks 30 minutes ago and told myself, "You need this" to kind of motivate myself. Now I can't put the sticks down. O_o Pretty odd, huh? Mike
  16. I'd say the Rose Bowl because it's only a state away from where I live. I don't know the condition of the stadium or how much justice it would do for a world championship because I've never been there, or even to a championship at all. I voted for the Rose Bowl just because it's so close to home and if it was still here, I'd get to see it more often. Aside from that, I don't think I'm qualified to vote.
  17. I'll try to make this as short as possible. Lately I've been feeling that if I'm not at rehearsal, the last thing I want to do is pick up the sticks. But at the same time, I can't wait for the next rehearsal. I don't know why I'm getting this feeling, because I love playing. I'm guessing it could be because playing by myself get's really boring. Or maybe it's because I don't have a well thought out practice schedule. Or maybe it's because I have so many distractions around me, like television and my computer. My question is, do you get this feeling often or even at all? How many of you can actually play by yourself for hours every day without getting bored? I hope I'm not alone with this.. O_o Mike P.S - I'm not complaining, whining, or asking for help, just incase it seems that way. I'm just curious if any of you get this feeling.
  18. I'm 17, and I'm auditioning for corps for the first time this November. I'm going to audition for snare drum at the Seattle Cascades. It'll be their first year back on the field after being inactive this last season, so I'm really excited to audition. I really hope I make it! If I don't make Cascades, then my back-up choice is Oregon Crusaders. I'll be happy to march either one. If neither, then I might be on the road with Troopers as a volunteer because I have a friend that plays in the pit. I was also thinking about INT, like a lot of you.
  19. I got my first corps "souvies" this summer. My favorite is the Paul Rennick sig. sticks I got at the Phantom booth. And then the most comfortable crimson sweatshirt with "PHANTOM REGIMENT" along with the chevron embroidered on the front.
  20. I'm still missing something. *slow one*
