You still need to add the Kilties. The footage from '78 shows matched grip--I've no idea about other years around then.

For what it's worth we (BD) played both styles in our 1980 show. The first part of the opener, a portion of the drum solo and part of the closer were all played match. I don't remember the reason for it but it was probably a visual thing. Personally I like the look of traditional even though match seems to make more sense.

So our confirmed list includes:

Santa Clara Vanguard

Royal Crusaders

27th Lancers

General Butler Vagabonds

Gaurdsmen

Santa Clara Vanguard B corps

Argonne Rebels

Madison Scouts

I also think Crossmen were matched for awhile. It would make sense, since that's Rob Carson's home corps.

Geneseo Knights switched for 81-84

Got another one for you: 1986 Rochester Crusaders

We decided on matched grip this year because we had a couple of snare players that could play their stones off matched, but looked pretty nasty with traditional. I can't recall, but I believe we were top 4 in percussion !
