jonnyboy
#1 Working in an oil refinery outside of the US. Long hours of hard work. Those days of carrying a drum all day didn't even come close to working in a stack or boiler near the equator in summer. Physically challenging, but the money was incredible. Those 8 months really taught me how much hard work can pay. #2 Flipping my first house. Kinda scary when I thought I made the biggest mistake ever and was in the hole big time $$$. Hard work and timing (selling at the top of the market in 05) made the payoff worth it. Drum corps did teach me how to go day by day and stick to it, without my corps experience I may not have had the skills and courage to put my nose to the grindstone in those two cases.
