Puppet
You have two of them correct C'mon, Keith they were the Belleville Black Knights. They beat us out of the VFW prelims by a couple of tenths in 1970 in Miami. I'll never forget that. Edited March 20, 2009 by Puppet

KeithHall
Were you talking about the spelling? I have my answer sheet at school. You're not gonna fess up, are you. I'm right - I don't get to be that often.Puppet
Puppet
Were you talking about the spelling?I have my answer sheet at school. Oh, and the "ville" became "view" because your dog bit into it? Yeah, I've used that one dozens of times. I didn't offer "blue knights" did I? Like I said, I don't get these very often, but when I'm right, I know I'm right. If I don't know, I say that, too. This from the Black Knights' web site: August 16, 1969 – US Open Finals Marion, OH 1. Kilties 84.20 2. Argonne Rebels 74.75 3. Toronto Optimists 74.35 4. Blue Rock 73.20 5. Madison Scouts 72.45 6. Nisei Ambassadors 66.40 7. Belleville Black Knights 62.05 8. Marion Cadets 59.75 9. Norwood Park Imperials 59.10 10. Kenosha Queensmen 55.40 And I was right about the VFW prelims 1970 1970 VFW Nationals – Prelims in Miami: 1. Troopers 90.50 2. Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights 90.30 3. Boston Crusaders 90.00 4. Blue Stars 89.85 5. Kilties 89.05 6. Blue Rock 88.80 7. Madison Scouts 88.65 8. Garfield Cadets 88.60 9. Argonne Rebels 88.25 10. 27th Lancers 87.25 11. Cavaliers 87.05 12. Belleville Black Knights 84.20 The night before, we were treated very badly by a motel owner in Jacksonville, Florida who didn't want "nigra" kids in his motel. We drove all night and did stay however - thinking we were going to be in Miami longer than we actually did - at the Marco Polo Hotel on Collins Avenue but for many young folks, the night before upset them and our performance much more than we could have predicted. Belleville went on after us in the prelims - and knocked us out by mere tenths. Puppet
