Pit_Girl_77
http://www.berrycenter.net/ DCI has huge shows at the Berry Center on July 16th and 17th right before the San Antonio Regional. Now, on their website, they have Cirque du Soleil show during that same weekend, at the same time. I am not sure if the Cirque show will be in a tent in the parking lot, or in the indoor arena, but either way parking might become a pain. And, if you want to roam the parking lot you might be disappointed if parts are roped off or the corps are parked next door at the communit college. Most weekends there are more than one thing going on at the Berry Center (I work in the school district, so I am there pretty often), but I don't ever remember 2 things this big at the same time. Anyone else have info on how this is going to work? I suspect it will be fine, but the traffic/parking has me worried a bit.
danjuan2000
The traveling Cirque shows tend to be under a giant tent in the parking lot.
tizzizzailslf04
Call me crazy but I'm going to see Cirque!
Peel Paint
I wish the Cirque performers (most of whom are from Asia, Europe, and Canada) could get to see a world class drum corps show!! I bet many of them would love it. Touring Cirque shows are performed inside their own tents, where they can control light and sound and props as their shows are designed. But setting up their tent in a stadium parking lot, and adding one or two thousand cars for parking for their performance, will punch out some parking available for drum corps. mchromik
I've seen one of the tent shows, very cool. But it was one big$%@ tent, and there were a good deal of trailers and the like as well. Parking could be an issure.
TerriTroop
I haven't been to that stadium - what will this do to bus/truck parking and warmup areas?
crowncontra
The community college next door, which someone mentioned, has a huge parking lot so I could see Cirque using that parking lot for their show and parking and then using the Berry Center lot for the DCI show. Also they could use half of the parking lot for parking of Cirque and then half for the DCI show. I am sure they will work it out. They typically do. CasualFan
The show performing in the Berry Center is Saltimbanco which has been adapted for indoor arenas. It is not a big top show. Call me crazy but I'm going to see Cirque! Better yet go to the 3:30 p.m. Cirque show on Friday, then catch drum corps that evening. Oh, okay, yes, if it is Saltimbanco, that show does not tour in tents but appears in arenas that can hold a basketball court. So no drum corps fan parking spaces will be lost to Cirque tents. That will help.

The ex drum major of Les Eclipse for one, is musical director for one of the Cirque shows.
