CitBos
I know of two differences: 1.) Some corps usingthe dot system, where the members have a certain that they MUST get to. I've heard that the Cavaliers use this, but I'm not certain. 2.) Other corps (I haven't heard of anyone specific) use the form system, were the members are just required by the staff to 'set the form'. And just as a side note; it's not really the drill itself, but the Cadets step off with the right foot, and every one else steps off on the left. Chris Rohn
Even if you 'set the form' there is still a dot book.
hrnguy500
if we don't watch out this thread could get out of hand. I would guess most corps use some sort of dot book and then dress the form. Ideally if you are in your dot you will be in the form but that is in a perfect world.
Coathope
Cavaliers and Spirit use "dot" marching. Everyone else uses some variation on dressing the form while going for your dot.
soccerguy315
i think the two main ways are: 1. march exactly to where you are supposed to be, no matter what 2. march to the general vicinity that you are supposed to be, choosing your exact spot based on how the form materializes. qwerty543
Dot vs Form. Dot is pretty simple... you do not look at the form at all, you only concentrate on your dot. Form has variants in it. They also have dots, but concentrate either 50/50 on dot and form... or more on form.
