What do you think about the use of both Bb and G horns in the hornline?

Blast! uses G bugles in their program, and several corps had a mix (BD in the early 00s) before the complete switchover.

Personally, I feel that you get the raw power and intonation from Gs and the more tempered tone of the Bb. I'm surprised more corps haven't used a mix. It is clear that some programs can use it well.

Discuss.

I doubt that....with the Dynasty endorsement and BD's rep, it makes no sense to mix the line of the A corps...I thought BD and Cadets were the first corps to go Bb that year...and that all at once.

So have we confirmed that no corps has ever used a mixed-key (with G) hornline? Shame. So much potential there. Wasn't that the point of any-key?

the point, yes.

what happened, no.

still, i was pretty sure that there were hornlines who mixed. anywho, i always enjoyed blast! so if mason was able to teach that ensemble with the mix of Bb and G, i would think it would sound great on a field as well.
