supersop Posted July 25, 2009 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Cool. Did it have the same effect on others?It was very different from 1983, 1984, and 1985 - I saw those years and loved them too. Remember a few things. 1) No DCP 2) No webcasts 3) Garfield didn't come west of Pennsylvania until August 9th (except for one show in Ohio on July 20th) 4) 75% of the people there finals night had never seen their show I really think the entire crowd was in awe of the exploding front and reformation, they were expecting another movement and not an ending. After I yelled it started to sink in during the reshapes ..... and the slow formation of the block backfield. My screaming wasn't to get on the recordings. I simply lost control of myself. Others who were more familiar with the show (as I was) knew they had just watched the final moments of a drumcorps masterpiece ... and the new champion ... before the show was even over.
