kevingamin
Love that opening thunder crash as the DM salutes. 7 guard? I thought they got more earlier in the season.
kevingamin
Backfield playing to start with, very intense. Here comes the first hit!
kevingamin
Crowd is fired up! Some of these fans may be at their first competition, so welcome to the experience! Horns are a little blatty and top heavy so far. I can hear the tubas in the back of the form, though, just want a little more. Drum line is very intense and tight. Fun to watch them play. Great body movement from them during a quick break.
kevingamin
Now the ballad. Guard on umbrellas, keeping with the theme. They're small, but they're good. Great job by the trumpet soloist. Horns in small groups set around the field, now some body movement as one group plays. Everybody back in. Guard flags are very beautiful. kevingamin
No wonder I noticed the flags. Drum line was spinning backfield during the ballad. Great way to add color and effect! Very intense and discordant start to the next piece. Drum line now up front for their solo. Such great playing! This line could compete in World Class, no problem. kevingamin
Nice side to side Matrix effects from the horn line after they came back in. Lost some intensity during a pas through move. Gotta get confident with that move! Guard now changing into sunlight uniforms, birds tweeting in the pit as New Century Dawn begins. The storm has passed. Great job by the trumpet duet. Nice way to incorporate the corps logo into the flags. Looks like the sun is rising behind the capital building dome in Columbus.

kevingamin
Big finish to the show! Drum major even looked back over his shoulder at the crowd during the final hit, huge cheesy grin on his face. He's having fun.
kevingamin
Spirit of Newark now coming onto the field. My first viewing of this corps.
