kevingamin
Only 5 tubas but I can hear them loud and clear. Snares are a little dirty on the accelerando out of the ballad.
kevingamin
Tight block rotation from the horns, now burst out of formation with drums filling in the space. Big statement as the corps moves to the front side!
kevingamin
Fan sitting next to me just commented on how creative this theme is. I agree. Another reason to buy the DVDs.

kevingamin
Next on the field is Capital Regiment from Columbus, Ohio. Their 2009 program is entitled "The Storm" Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood Hello by Evanescence Chrono Cross by Chrono Cross New Century Dawn by Gillingham, David
kevingamin
The storm effects when the DM salutes never gets old. This is the most synth I've heard so far today. Horns playing backfield, but not for long. 40 horns turn front and blasting my face off. Nice. Drum line is on so far.
kevingamin
Mellos very strong on their feature. Trumpets follow up nicely. Now full hornline playing together. 8 tubas letting me hear them. They finally got that 8th guard member in there. In fact, just saw a 9th moving along the front side line.
kevingamin
Now for the Evanescence ballad. Corps gets blown away by a breeze, goes into free form. Guard member breaks out the umbrellas and heads over to the trumpet soloist. Unfortunately, he's not having a good show. Love the drums on flag back field. Great way to add color to the moment. Small brass ensemble moving across the field. Almost, but not quite, in tune. Horns now in arc formation. Guard on double flags, adding even more color. Nice crescendo, horns.
