kevingamin
Next on the field is Carolina Gold. Their 2009 program consists of: Dies Irae (from Days of Wrath) Mass Agnus Dei (from Adagio For Strings) Lux Aeterna (from Requiem for a Dream) Joy (from Awakening)
keyp
Nice to se and hear the Vigilantes! Small piece of trivia, I did my student teaching in band in Richardson Texas... :)
kevingamin
Low brass needs to be more articulate. Attacks are a little mushy during Verdi's Requiem, which has a lot of exposed note attacks in the low end.
Baritonium
That is so sad...The picture was serious culture shock for me... my image of Fran tends to be of him in 1977 when he came to Sun (at the age of, I don't know, 15, maybe?). I wonder if Marty and Lenny look different now, too? Yes, I have seen him in the interim, including last Sept. at the Sun Alumni dinner, but my old brain tends to store only so many images, I guess. I'm like a Radio Shack Tandy-80 in a Pentium 4 Dual Core world. too funny!
keyp
Carolina is showing a great deal of maturity with their program and control of the brass sound.
kevingamin
Triangle formation right in front of me to finish Requiem. Line on 30 isn't quite straight. Gold needs to step it up if they want to stay ahead of Vigilantes.
kevingamin
Drum solo now. Lots of aggressive high sticking, but I hear dirt throughout the solo.
keyp
The transition out of the opener took a while to get things going. Now things are moving in Bernstein's Mass.
Tansea
Low brass needs to be more articulate. Attacks are a little mushy during Verdi's Requiem, which has a lot of exposed note attacks in the low end. It is very challenging...a favorite of mine I would be cringing if I was there. kevingamin
Now in Bernstein's Mass. Drum break was cleaner. Could use more from the horns.
