TennTux Posted March 1, 2010 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Great day/night at the Garfield Post yesterday ... very well attended ... tremendous amount of talent on display ... lots of picture clickers and video takers ... maybe some will post them here ... now, it's on to Boston for St. Kevin's I&E on March 27th ... if you're in the area, think about stopping in ... you won't regret it!:-) With apologies for the time it's taken me to upload the photos.... (I still have to get the video and MP3s on line yet...hehe) It usually takes me about a full day to "regroup" and then work on the pics and now we have the MP3s as well... I especially enjoyed seeing and hearing the SUNRISER ALUMNI performing some of the 1968 favorites as well as all the other great performances. Only one thing and this may sound funny coming from ME, please put the sauer kraut dish out side next time!!!!! Oye vay Great time thanks again Skyliners and BHof. As noted in the prior posts, the venue was packed most of the day - I suspect you all had enough of the snow and needed a diversion. Anyway, if I try to name individuals, I'll be certain to leave someone out, so I'll just say "...you all know who you are..." The talent was great, the food and liquid refreshment was non-stop (although I hear the bar ran out of Coors Light....) and a good time was had by all. Thank you everyone..... I grew up watching Hurley, O'Hara, Bodnar and others, but where does my old friend and corps-mate Jack Murray stand in that lsit of all-time great drummers?He and Fontaine are unbelieveable!!! That was the most fun of the day for me - especially listening to those guys cranking out our old Oceanside Legionnaire drum solo. Murray - you still got it kid - you always did. Gee Ray ... I didn't even get an honorable mention ... guess that's why I'm the only DRUMMER in the BUGLERS HOF ... LOL ... Jack would have done just fine against the giants at that time ... he just missed us by a few years (although he remembers what I did back then better than I do!!!!) ... Jack has the gift of performing ... and a DCA Snare Title to back it up ... he and Fontana have been doing their thing for over a decade now ... yeah ... he would have done very well in any era ...
