Jeff Ream
Hmmm...Didn't see myself quoting any Indy attendance numbers (which are still unknown publicly, and may or may not be higher than Pasadena). I did quote Pasadena numbers as a sign that recent ticket sales (from the last three years) have been better than anything in the last fifteen or so years. Meaning DCI isn't necessarily completely dying when it comes to audience support. Are you correlating 2007 was more than anything previously, and was probably more than 2008 and 2009, and thus ticket sales are down? If so, you're probably right. But then you'd also have to correlate that tickets sales had a massive increase after finals were in Madison, therefor Madison's interest in drum corps is dwindling. And that Southern California drum corps fans are WAY more supportive than Madison, WI drum corps fans. let's be honest about Pasadena and Denver. They finally got finals out there. People who had never travelled finally had a chance to go. if they didn't have bigger numbers, I'd have been very surprised.
Peel Paint
And while those numbers might stay higher than in the midwest a few more times if they kept going back in consecutive years, eventually, it would be like Madison, and the numbers would likely start to drop out west as well.
