A Cavalier TDY
The front sideline is packed. Always wanted to see an award for 'Most #### in the Pit'!
kstein
What is wrong with vocals and synths? They can add a lot to a show. Vocals have many times already since 2004. Synths only have a year, but there have been great uses there too...Spirit being the main one. Honestly, I haven't heard vocals or synths make a single positive impact on the drum and bugle corps activity. Not one. The challenge with limiting the number in the pit is that they'll just use even more electronics to fill their "needed" sounds. Repeal of this ugliness will have a far greater impact than limiting the number of actual, talented percussionists in the pit.
A Cavalier TDY
And Finally:Hats. They don't wear hats. Madison's pit still wears hats. Speaking as a player who marched pit instruments and played them on the front sideline, I've got to say I DO like the extra musicality brought to shows by the pit. That said, I missed getting out on the field and actually marching. To me, there were advantages and disadvantages.
Cavie74
LOL, I should not have had to..... Did you ever get that stapler back???.... Nope, I melted it. "X" , "Z", I never said a cymbal player could spell. I'll grant you that cymbals in the pit sound better but cymbal lines look better!
