supersop
There's a bari playing a solo, but he's playing it into a mic and it's processing the sound making it sound like a bari/trumpet duet. Very cool effect. Just logged in ... and after that comment .. I'm logging out.

kevingamin
Last on the field are the Glassmen from Toledo, Ohio. Their 2010 program is entitled "The Prayer Cycle" and features: Mercy (from The Prayer Cycle) Primacy of Number (from Naqoyqatsi) Hope (from The Prayer Cycle) Epiphanies (from Fanfare & Chorales) We’re All Jungle Creatures (from The Lion In Winter) Terminal

kevingamin
Pre-show consists of chimes and bells from the pit with a low bass sound underneath. Ominous.
cadet93
My money is on the Bluecoats. I think their show is excellent.
grey0487
To be honest, I have never been that much of a fan of Glassmen productions... But this year's show is going to be a great one!
kevingamin
Sounds like a call to prayer chant coming from the pit. Horns playing backfield, very reverent sounding. Horns now face front. After hearing the Jupiter and Yamaha horn lines tonight, I've come to the conclusion that Dynasty has a LOT of work to do to catch up. Either that or Glassmen just sound crass in the upper register. Musically, however, the opening is a great moment and get the crowd going right off the bat. Very clean, too.
