Puts on old man hat.....

We did not have an option in Birmingham in 79. How about that nice dome in Jackson?

Whatever.

The likelihood of the roof ever being opened was pretty slim. The field has no drainage.

An open roof means minimal curtains and no air conditioning. In addition, it's stadium management, not the corps, who make the call on this.

The top corps with the smartest staffs will sound fine in the house. (The others won't, except by accident.) And every guard instructor and performer will enjoy ideal show conditions.
