Jeff Ream
This idea is bad. The level of excellence required to reach the box is significantly less than that which must be put forth under careful scrutiny. The inevitable result is a loss of fundamental technique in an effort to create and clean to the box rather than on the field level as well. illegal use of logic. Jeff Ream
There actually is one administrative position in place within DCI and DCA events that already has total 100% potential control of any outcome from a technical violation scenario; Timing and Penalties. That oversight position would stay intact.5 captions, 5 adjudicators; in the box. when the hell was the last time DCI gave a penalty? I think even USSBA may give more penalties than DCI does
ItsOnTheField
when the hell was the last time DCI gave a penalty? I think even USSBA may give more penalties than DCI does You have a good point here. If a corps goes to a show (typically early in the season) and they are under time, they *could* get hit with a financial penalty. Meaning, the corps may not get full pay for a performance that is under time. Along with a time penalty, this is more typical with OC corps when it does happen. TOTALLY agree with this (and that's not even taking into account how dumb this suggestion is without any kind of visual performance/ensemble/etc. score). perc2100
Ties are a part of life. Happens from time to time in all games, even in "rock, sissors, stones". It is what it is. Yea, I imagine there are quite a few ties with "rock, sissors (sic) and STONES." But not nearly as many ties as there are with "rock, pebbles, stones."
