chadwick Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Spirit of Atlanta Spirit of Atlanta is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Todd Snead to the position of Corps Director. Dr. Snead has been the Brass Co-Caption Head for the past two seasons and most recently served as Assistant Professor of Music Education at The University of Minnesota. Dr. Snead will lead the operational, development, outreach, and marketing duties for the corps in addition to involvement with the instructional and design areas of the corps. Spirit of Atlanta Executive Director, Joel Vincent states, "Todd is an exceptional teacher and has had a tremendous impact on the corps during his tenure. His experiences as a performer, teacher, and administrator will be a strong addition to our administrative team as we move forward." Dr. Snead holds a Bachelor and Master in Education degrees from Texas Tech University and Ariizona State University and his Ph.D. from Georgia State University. He was a performing member of the Broadway production Blast, and is the former Assistant Director of Bands at Judson High School in San Antonio, Texas. He has provided professional development for teachers and in community engagement with the Phoenix Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Charleston Symphony, and is published in Music Educators Journal and Teaching Music.
