Room_101
The conference before semis to "make things more consistent" is like a yellow slip of paper telling judges how to score finals. ...huh? Is there something I don't know about?
kdaddy
The net result of this would be to take variability in the composition of the judging panel out of the equation. I see what you're saying. And quality is proportional to the inverse of variance. However, can a judge legitimately say "I thought Corps X deserved a 19.6 yesterday, and since I remember how they performed yesterday, today's performance isn't quite as good, so I'll give them a 19.4." Would a judge remember if a particular passage in a corps' show is dirtier than the previous day? (legit question - don't know the answer). oldbandguy
Want to make it REAL interesting... 1) final placements are an average of all 3 nights 2) performance position each night is determined by a draw 3) scores/recaps are not released until awards ceremony
cowtown
So by calling this a modest proposal are you being sarcastic in the Swift tradition? One of the cool things about watching 3 days of the same shows is being able to really tell who is on and who is off...there should be some swings in corps scores because there were swings in their preformance
