Restructuring the DCI BOD

Recommended Posts

Spirit of Newark Blue Saints, Racine Scouts are in a completely different business than DCI... and don't really belong in the competitive circuit. That is not what they are about... so, why have them there in first place? Not the right fit.

Nope, they are in the exact same business as all other corps involve within DCI: providing a performance outlet for youth in a 501c3 competitive drum corps environment. It is your elitism which maintains that they are not qualitative and competitive enough for your standards.

Dan, is there any way your plan can work if it does not limit to 15/15?

Can you imagine one?

Looking closer at the more organic breaks... it is probably more like 17/15.

There are groups that are more financially sound that are touring more extensively, for example, Pioneer.... seems like it would make more sense for them to use that strength to tour out west longer with OC corps that are more contemporaries.... than to be in WC.

In striking range of Pioneeron the west coast..

Pacific Crest

Mandarins

BDB

SCVC

Oregon Crusaders

Cascades

Seems much more logical to lump these groups together as much as possible and have tight/killer shows. What is the point in spreading them around?

You're hung up on this 501c3 like it means something.

Dan, along the lines of what Garfield just asked, you still have not responded to this post number792 dealing with that very issue.

Do you think this lineup of 7 corps would make a profitable show at, say, a small HS stadium?

Maybe self-supporting?

If the 501c3 youth designation does not mean anything, then by all means please move the elite corps over to a full-blown market driven major league professional circuit and allow the competitive private free-market determine their success or failure.

John Jacob Jesus ####### Jingleheimber Schmit... how many times does it take for you to understand that there is no ####### youth designation of 501c3... and drum corps are classified pretty much the same as professional orchestras. This is at least the 15th time. At least.

Shazam.
