madalumni
In the spirit of another poll (91 or 93 BD), here's poll about the Madison Scouts. Many great shows have been done over the years by the Scouts, especially during the mid-nineties. I feel like some of the best shows - like 1992 - City of Angels - have been overshadowed by so many strong ones between 95-99. So which year would you give the edge to - 92 or 97? sniper282000
1997 all the way for me bro.
corps8294
1997. It was unique, creative, fun, and never got boring. The show even featured Captain Morgan/Adam Ant!

I'd go with 1997, but I agree that there was a pretty great run of entertaining show designs/performances from 1992-1999. I think 1997 had more of a total package than 1992 (plus, 1992 is a little diminished by being a pseudo-repeat of 1991, at least thematically if not some repeats of tunes), and while I really enjoy both shows I think the 97 show is better (though 1992 might've been a better performing corps)
MisterA
Both are fantastic, well performed fan-friendly shows. I think the edge goes to 97 though. 97 is one of my all time favorite Madison Scouts shows ever. 92 has some great moments, but to me, 97 is much more of a total package. Plus the sword fight on the spinning drums, followed by the drum major taking a picture of the audience, was just great. I would really love to see a copy of that picture, as I remember the crowd just went nuts. Looks like I am going to have to spend the evening watching Madison Scouts DVDS. HowFarCanOurBodiesGo
The drum solo in '92 is killer, but I think '97 has it beat in overall quality. The visual program was definitely more advanced (which is to be expected from a show that's 5 years down the line).
madalumni
I would really love to see a copy of that picture, as I remember the crowd just went nuts. There are two photos that Bob Guinn shot - one of the crowd and one of the hornline blowing his (and the crowd's) face off. They are floating around somewhere online...I'll see if I can find them and post them on here.

contrajedi8
Gotta go 97. 92 is such a great show, though!
warsawstory
'92 was a "second chance". '97 was magic where everything came together the first time.
