Jothcra
The Greater Atlanta Marching Music Association (GAMMA) is proud to announce the debut of a new World Class drum corps for Season 18. Euphony Empire will consist primarily of high school and college students from the Greater Atlanta area, which contains many local band programs that already enjoy widespread recognition for their high level of performance. Currently, the corps is recruiting prospective members from these schools and institutions. Several local business and band programs have pledged sponsorships and donated or loaned out resources, including an equipment trailer and pit percussion equipment. Negotiations are in progress with potential brass and percussion sponsors. Camps are approaching quickly For its debut season, Euphony Empire presents its show entitled "reSURGEns". The city of Atlanta was massively devastated by fire at the hands of Union general Sherman during the Civil War. After the war ended and reconstruction began, the city adopted the motto "resurgens" (Latin for "rising again") to commemorate the city's return to its former glory and growth into a center for trade and culture. In 1996, Atlanta hosted the centennial Olympic Games, which spurred a massive infrastructure boom and contributed immensely to the city's current size as stature. Euphony Empire's Season 18 show is inspired by this important event in the history of the southeast. Repertoire will include Robert W. Smith's "Inferno" from The Divine Comedy, Dream Theater's "Metropolis", and others.

DannyII
Welcome aboard! I really like the show concept! I dig that it ties in the history of the hometown of the corps. (and General William Tecumseh Sherman is one of my favorite Civil War generals... )
