kevingamin
A lone baritone soloist plays the First Circle theme, accompanied by the narration. The large blue sphere is carried out from the front left tunnel as the drum line comes in from the back left, encircled, appropriately, by guard members. Horns now make their way onto the field to start playing the haunting low brass chords accompanying This Bitter Earth.
kevingamin
In the center of the field a is a circle of horn players. As each one gets up and joins the ensemble, they spin in a circle. Even the little things contribute to the theme in this show.
kevingamin
The build into the climax of This Bitter Earth is one of my favorite horn moments from this season. There's a lot of great musicality happening in the BK horn line.
kevingamin
Circle One, by Jay Bocook, could just as easily be called "Variations on First Circle". I like it.

kevingamin
The flags are various shades of the color circle and also feature circles on them.
kevingamin
16 tubas really help fill the stadium with a great foundation for the rest of the horn line. Even when the corps is in a block formation, they perform moves within the formation that are circular in nature.

kevingamin
We hear more of the straight forward First Circle now. Guard members on saber are featured on the platform/stage at the front of the field.
kevingamin
The horns have a great feature on what is normally the intro melody of First Circle. Crossmen also used this melody in the middle of their rendition of First Circle in 1998. Drum line now comes forward. As each section begins to circle the stage, they play their part of the feature, a lone rifle on the stage as they play. Now for another circle put to use in this show, tambourines played by members of the pit on and around the stage, a very visual moment that is very well done by the players.
