kevingamin
First on the field are the Steel City Ambassadors Alumni from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their 2013 program consists of: Stormy Weather How High the Moon Blue Bossa Scream Machine National Emblem Swing
kevingamin
The corps actually begins with a warmup of Salvation is Created. They are now playing a nice laid back arrangement of Stormy Weather with a great soprano soloist. The four member contra line sounds wonderful on the bass line. kevingamin
There's our first taste of percussion, with three snares, two tenors, a single bass player on rack mounted basses, and two aux percussion players.
kevingamin
I like this arrangement of Stormy Weather. It gives a chance for the horns to wail but is nice and relaxed.
kevingamin
We kick up the tempo now with How High the Moon. Again, the contras are just laying it down for the rest of the horn line. Nice baritone/soprano duet up front during the middle of the piece.
kevingamin
Some high range playing from the mellos on the melody. Tempo kicks up for the big finish.
kevingamin
Very tasteful baritone solo to open Blue Bossa. Nice laid back Latin feel to this piece.
JohnZ
I think the Bari soloist is Walt Street?
