They came very close on several occasions, usually being edged out by the Chicago Cavaliers and the Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights. The Racine Kilties also were very successful at VFW with wins in 1964, 68 & 1969. Casper Troopers had wins in 1966 and 1970, Chicago Royal Airs in 1965.
