N.E. Brigand
The DCI website is oddly limited in its information about this show. There is no zip code listed in the address. And no actual address, for that matter, just the name of the street. A little scouting with Google maps provides that data, but I'd also note that DCI's page for this show says still today, the day of the show, that "Ticket information about this event will be available soon." Anyway: A Blast in the Burg Memorial Field 284 W. Center Street Johnsonburg, PA 15845 Thursday, July 24 -- 7:00 p.m. Performance order: --Coastal Surge --Genesis --Stentors --Raiders --Legends --7th Regiment --Spartans This is the first meeting of current score leaders 7th Regiment and Spartans with an Open Class corps likely to be of similar caliber (Genesis--not sure why they go on so early), so we will see just how realistic their scores this season have been (particularly the Manchester scores). This is also the seasonal debut of Coastal Surge.
Eleran
I heard that Genesis was a late addition to the show - might explain the placement. Raiders had equipment truck issues - hope they are resolved before show time.
N.E. Brigand
Thanks for that information. NWS indicates weather will be clear but cool.

Northern Thunder
DCI's page for this show says still today, the day of the show, that "Ticket information about this event will be available soon." Nothing like waiting until the last minute???

Well Johnsonburgs motto is "If you are here, man are you lost...." Had Sr shows there in the 70s as J-burg had a Sr corps. Best remembered for the factory smoke stack that would belch out all different colors during the day. Never saw blue or yellow smoke until I was there..... breathing that crap in..... Only to be topped by the cop who threatened to run in half our horn line for sitting on the sidewalk with our feet on the street. Had a flashback looking at the list of corps. Ye olde Sr corps show was a Red Carpet Assoc show which was a "lesser" Sr corps circuit. IOW not the top well known corps. J-burg having a show of OC instead of WC kinda follows the same thinking... bravo.... Edited July 24, 2014 by JimF-LowBari
Eleran
If anyone on DCP happens to be at the show, would enjoy hearing updates/reports/reviews.
Eleran
1 Spartans 71.900 2 7th Regiment 70.300 3 Genesis 69.500 4 Legends 68.700 5 Raiders 62.900 6 Coastal Surge 59.800 7 Les Stentors 51.500 Recap
N.E. Brigand
As expected, a drop from Manchester, though maybe not as big as might have been expected: 4.6 to 5.2 pts. for Spartans and Regiment, respectively, and only 3.1 pts. for Legends, but almost 9 pts. for Stentors. Coastal Surge off to a good start. Legends surprisingly close to Genesis: they were more than 3 pts. back in Dixon but less than 1 pt. back tonight. N.E. Brigand
Only five judges. Genesis takes percussion, followed by Legends. Spartans take GE1 and Visual Analysis. Regiment takes GE2 and Music Analysis.
