gcurrier
The Knights World Class Confluence A confluence is the junction of two rivers, especially rivers of approximately equal width. The Knights have done many shows or included music about rivers through the years, yet many pieces were left untouched. This season We look to combine pieces we have done with a counter piece we have not and take a theoretical artistic connection of where these two rivers would each meet. While there are many pieces that have been chosen, the bulk of the show, approximately 1/3 is the final two rivers including a new Asian piece and a piece that is simply one of our favorites! The rivers often have similarities and at times blend to take a very new approach with each confluence seeming to flow over into the next. The visual show will also carry this flow of water into itself throughout, often turbulent, but in the end triumphant! At The River - Aaron Copland (Entrance/warmup) A River Runs Through It by Mark Isham/Rivers Symphony by Sean O’Boyle The River Suite by Duke Ellington/Where The River Flows by James Swearingen Confluence by John Williams/The Final Confluence by Austin Wintery Black Muddy River - Grateful Dead/Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel Appalachian Springs Finale by Aaron Copland/Old Man River by Jerome Kern Yellow River Piano Concerto by Xian Xinghai/The Moldau by Bedrich Smetana Les Blanc Chevalier Open Class Land Beyond the Forest Les Blanc Chevalier will explore Transylvania and the ever changing political and war strife along with a celebration of the people itself including the influence of the Romani people and gypsy traditions. Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 by Franz Liszt Romanian Rhapsody No 2 by George Enescu Waves of the Danube by J Ivanovic Romanian Folk Dances by Bela Bartok Caprice Bohemian by Sergei Rachmaninoff Cape Cod Regiment Class A Material Girl-a Teenage Fantasy Cape Cod Regiment takes the music of Madonna and turns it into its own tale of a college boy falling in love with an older man, wooing him and ultimately using his money to provide for his own materialistic desires. The music at times will be beautiful and seductive and at other times deceitful of its original intent. In the end you are left to decide, were his actions out of lust of possessions or of love. Like a Prayer Express Yourself/Like a Virgin/Crazy For You Holiday/La Isle Bonita Live To Tell/Frozen ##### I’m Madonna/Vogue You Must Love Me/I’d Be Surprisingly Good For You Material World/Don't Cry For Me Argentina Finale
