kevingamin
We now move to Open Class. Next on the field is the Govenaires from St. Peter, Minnesota. Their 2016 program is entitled "Sherlock" and consists of: Discombobulate (from Sherlock Holmes) I Never Woke Up in Handcuffs Before (from Sherlock Holmes) Chandelier Excerpts

kevingamin
Great rotating form move by the low brass while crab stepping. Great sound from them as well.
kevingamin
Horns back field. Great sound off the back stands.
kevingamin
Great evil sound from the low brass! They keep making this guard girl collapse and become a corpse. "Where's Gil? I think he did it!"
Brent
nice first hit Govies. taking a new kind of show to great levels for a new DCA Open Class corps. corps is really good right now. they head to China on Wednesday. 4 time DCA Class A Champions and they have more than doubled in size over the past two years to now compete in DCA Open Class. Colorguard and drumline are phenomenal and the horns are right there. Frontline has almost tripled in size over the past two years and are very musical! kevingamin
Snare line gathers around the crime scene as Sherlock investigates. Of course it's the snares. They need more to do in the show, people. Sherlock is now interviewing each suspect while they re-enact how the murder COULD have happened. kevingamin
Sherlock now heads home to think about the case. A coat rack and "thinking chair" are set up on the field for him to agonize over the crime.
chasgroh
...love the way Govies move...stylistic sliding via crab very effective...they are graceful and very controlled. Well trained corps, full of nuance...musical.
