CVBunny
I like the 51D for Bari, though when I was on higher parts i used a 50. Now that I'm on Euph I use a 58 (it is NICE) (thank you Beefy) 8^)
DevsBari02
Bunny, Schilke 50's are for wusses! Here's an icon just for you. ^:) (heh heh)
CVBunny
ahem...isn't your horn smaller than mine? That's what I thought. Wuss. (:-D
pooh bear
I've always said - It isn't the mouthpiece or the horn - It's the operator. I have played on Bach 7C, 12C, 6-1/2AL, 6-1/2AM, Shilke 51D - overall I like the new 6-1/2 AL megatone piece - more mass - better tone. Shilke 51D is very popular - but like a bathtub. Thin double C's with the Shilke 51D - course it all depends on the style of music you are playing. I think I'll try Terry Doran's Parduba at next RA rehersal - LOL :D
SWSinfonian
Just thought I'd jump in on this one. When I marched corps, I used a bach 3g. Now I use a denis wick 1 for marching and a shilke 58 on my concert horn. Just my $.02 Scott C.
kevingamin
I like the 51D for Bari, though when I was on higher parts i used a 50. Now that I'm on Euph I use a 58 (it is NICE) (thank you Beefy) 8^) I started out on a 1 1/2 G euph mouthpice in 2000 when I first played euphonium. Toilet bowl mouthpiece, basically, killed my endurance, but I loved the sound. I went out and picked up a Shilke 51D large shank mouthpiece for 2001 and found it perfect for me, just like on bari. Unfortunately, being the only 3rd bari on euph is kind of useless, so I used the excuse of my pinky ring breaking to switch back to bari for the rest of 2001. :) Bunny's a euph player...VERY cool. :)
drumstix909
Bach 6 1/2 AL hehe...funny that I'm answering this question when my name is drumstix......don't worry, I'm not insane....I am originally a drummer, but now I have picked up baritone and I am learning to play it also. Galen
I used a Bach 1 1/4 G last season. It was originally my bass trombone mouthpiece so I figured it would work well enough with the euph I was using. It did ok but I'm using the Bach 6 1/2 AL that came with my new horn and I found that it gives me a lot more flexibility, which I need more with this book I've got for this season, rather than just raw low-note-throwing ability.
