Mike I marched one of those at my old high school for a year...Its kinda funny watching the bottom basses and quads ##### about thier backs....I didn't feel right marching it, it sounded soo rinky dinky, but oh well.... TenorsForWorldDomination Posted June 5, 2004 Share Posted June 5, 2004 The 14" bass drum Yamaha offers is mainly for the indoor market rather than outdoor drum corps competition. A 14" doesn't have enough mass to produce a loud enough attack and tone to project through a wall of drum corps brass.
