Scerpella
Was digging around in my mothers archives and found this. 1971 Mariners, 3 DMs Capn Crunch and 2 Assoc DMs. L to R Mark Eidsen, Tom Wolfe (Foxy) and Jim Piscitello Note the long Cutlass in Jims Left hand. They used to toss that thing around in the show. It weighed about 6 poinds! Edited December 6, 2004 by dans24103
JimF-LowBari
So THAT'S what Cap'n Crunch looked like! Thanks Dan, read about it in History of DC but the only pic the books had was from the back and in B/W.

PJS53
Mariners were a really fun corps to watch. My wife who was a guard sgt. for the CYO Band (Chicago) at the time used to emulate some of the sabre tricks he did. That was before the days of sabre being a common piece of guard equipment. Scerpella
So THAT'S what Cap'n Crunch looked like! Thanks Dan, read about it in History of DC but the only pic the books had was from the back and in B/W. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heres a picture from Drum Corps News in the late 60s. Originally B&W but colorized. On the left is John Brazale who would later be corps director and then go on to success wth Phanotm Regiment. On the right is Joe Bruno who still announces drum corps show sin the midwest.
